Organization

The Johnson Public Library Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2025 to support the Johnson Public Library and its vital role in the Hackensack community. Led entirely by volunteers with extensive records of community service and civic involvement, the Foundation exists for one purpose: to secure financial resources that help the Library grow, innovate, and serve future generations.

Working in partnership with the Library Board of Trustees and guided by a long-term strategic plan, the Foundation raises funds to support facility improvements, technology upgrades, educational programs, and expanded services for patrons of all ages. Special emphasis is placed on creating opportunities for children and teens through enhanced learning spaces, literacy initiatives, and access to modern technology.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, contributions to our mission are tax-deductible to the degree permitted by law. Every donation to the Foundation directly supports the long-term strength of the Library as a destination for discovery, learning, and making connections. Through charitable contributions, grants, community partnerships, special events, and long-term giving opportunities, we seek to provide resources that help the Library undertake capital improvements, expand technology, enrich collections, and develop innovative programs. Through the generosity of donors, we help ensure that the Johnson Public Library remains a welcoming and valuable resource for everyone in our community.

We have so many exciting things going on, be the first to find out!
